No opener this time, folks! It wasan entire night of ZigZaggin' energy!
The sound system's improvements were largely thwarted and the acoustics were
the same!
Part of the time you could actually hear the vocals, though! Whoa!
Potentially, this could be a good thing! Part of the time, it wasn't.
NO MONITORS???
Ewwwwwwwww

Featuring Matt, Ryan, Michele Rozansky, Michael Deboer & Dennis Sindberg
Fairgrounds Espresso
71st and Greenfield
Milwaukee, WI

OK. This gig was VERY sparsely attended, maybe because Michele had a cold, hm?
But acoustic ZigZag was quite the treat and hearing Dennis and Michael playing
with David was... Aaaaahhhhhh.....

Well, you guys... this might have been our best show ever, making it suck even
more than Sean decided to retire from his position as ZigZag's drummer. Of course,
Ryan brought his mini-disk recorder to catch Sean's last show, but he never
set it up, so none of the show is available for you who didn't attend. Sorry...
you'll have to take our word for it that it was a great show! And Sidepocket
played a VERY clean, tight set. We were glad to share the bill with them. They're
also a bunch of really nice guys! We hung out with Justin, their bassist for
some time after the show and he proved himself to be quite conscious!
Tuesday, May 11th 8 - 11PM
An evening of acoustic guitar and vocals with
David Taffet and Friends
The Art Bar
722 E. Burleigh
Milwaukee, WI
(414) 372-7880
Well, this was a pretty good show, not counting the first 4 or 5 tunes, the
ones I did solo... those sucked lol... Michele was great! Her voice soared like
a bird! Then Michael Deboer joined me for a few, then I had Ryan come up and
add some harmonica, then, later, Dennis Sindberg came up and joined me and Michael
for various tunes.. finally Ryan and Matt were up to do some ZigZag numbers
with me... overall it was a really good night... lots of strangers came into
the club and stayed the whole night... the owner of the bar let us play as late
as we wanted!! That's unusual.... So, I'll be back there sometime in September,
rumor has it. <smile>
Thursday, July 1st, 7 - 11 PM
Watertown July 4th Festival
Riverside Park, 850 Labaree St, Watertown WI
This gig, for the American Legion Post 189, was cancelled out from under us
because we wanted to be paid more than $400 for the four band members and a
sound man to drive an hour each way, bring, set up and run rented sound and
light systems and play for four hours.
Friday, July 9th, 9 - 11 PM
The Gig
1132 E. Wright St.
(414) 562-0219
This was a benefit concert for the Leukemia And Lymphoma Society. We opened
for an acoustic Boney Fingers set. It was nice to share a stage with the Boney
guys, again! This was Mike's first gig and it went quite well. A few missed
transitions and form articulations, but basically a very good show, despite
our usual issues with vocal harmony. Everyone there said we sounded great! Had
some girls wriggling on the dance floor and everything! Wish you'da been there!
THIS GIG HAS APPARENTLY RUN INTO LEGAL HASSLES OVER THE LAND
THEY INTENDED TO USE, SO IT'S BEEN CANCELLED... grrrrrrrr
Saturday July 31st
Mariafest - a Jeff Jozefacki event
Saturday, September 11th 9:30 PM
CJ and ZigZag back-to-back, once again!!!

Coventry Jones opened for us, performing a solo acoustic set from 9:30 till
11. He was well-received and performed quite an energetic and humorous show!
ZigZag played really well that night and, for a change at Treats, the sound
system was actually adjusted well enough to hear all the parts, including vocals!
Whoa! Unheard of! Too bad so many of our friends were out of town at the Gathering
of the Heads that night... AND, we DIDN'T RECORD IT!!!!! So, no cuts from that
show are on the MP3 page, sorry... if you weren't there, you weren't there,
were you?

This was a pretty poorly attended show, which turned out to be ok, since our
harmonica player showed up so late we played the first set as a trio. The sound
mix was poor, as well. This night was the night we realized that ZigZag was
on its deathbed.
Tuesday, November 23rd 8:30 - 11:30 PM
Acoustic ZigZag!!!
Art Bar
722 E. Burleigh
Milwaukee, WI
(414) 372-7880
We performed reasonably well this night, considering the unfamiliarity with
playing an acoustic set. Mike brought his plastic tub bass drum and was still
able to play loudly enough that David developed blood blisters on 3 fingers
by the end of the night. We all knew this to be our last show and, typical for
men, managed to say little or nothing to one another about that, all evening.
To those who came to see us and were taken aback by the announcement that we
were done, thank you for being there!!! Thank you for HAVING been there and
thank you for your interest and support over the years. You know who you are.....
